Thresia Lourena Pierce, 75, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 11:45 P.M. Sunday November 1, 2015 at her home. She was born April 19, 1940, in Hoopeston, IL, the daughter of Levi and Suzanna (Nehr) Richards. She married Robert Pierce on February 16, 1957, in Hoopeston, IL. He preceded her in death on November 3, 1990. She is survived by three sons, Bobby (Marta) Pierce of Hoopeston, IL, Brian Pierce of Hoopeston, IL and Bradley (Amy) Pierce of Evansville, IN; one sister, Shirley (Paul) Grant; four grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Cole and Connor Pierce; seven nieces, Robin Richards, Debbie Richards, Paula Burress, Tammy Burress, Tabatha Richards, Martha Bowen, and Rose Marie Bowen and nine nephews, Larry Joe Richards, Randy Richards, Randy Richards, Rob Richards, D.J. Richards, Chuckie Grant, David Grant, Steven Grant, Allen Bowen, and Bobby Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sandra Burress and Carolyn Bowen and two brothers, Larry Richards Sr. and Donnie Richards. Thresia worked at the Hoopeston Bakery for ten years before her retirement. For many years, she was self-employed working out of her home baking cakes for all occasions and making other baked goods. She was also a librarian at John Greer Grade School. Thresia was inducted into the Pla-Mor Lanes Bowling Hall of Fame on October 16, 2004, where she also served as the treasurer of her bowling league. She was also a former Little League Mom Volunteer. Thresia’s hobbies included watching golf, college basketball, Chicago Cubs baseball and doing jigsaw puzzles. She enjoyed drinking a cup of coffee and reading the sports page. Her greatest enjoyments were camping with her husband and family and spending time with them. A visitation will be held 10:30 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Thursday November 5, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E Main St. Hoopeston. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 P.M. Thursday November 5, 2015 at the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas CiCi officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
