Susan "Sue" Zamora

November 18, 1949 - May 27, 2022

Susan “Sue” Zamora, 72, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 4:35 A.M. Friday May 27, 2022, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. She was born November 18, 1949, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Daley Everett and Charline (Kolman) Morenz. She is survived by two daughters, Monica Zamora and Dionicia Zamora both of Hoopeston, IL; two sons, Pedro Zamora and Dominic E. Zamora both of Normal, IL; one sister, D. Kathryn Valdes of Dixon, IL; two brothers, Charles “Chuck” (Helen) Morenz of Bryant, WI and Scott (Andrea) Morenz of Burbank, IL; six grandchildren, Antonio Barreto, Ceciliana Barreto, Christine Barreto, Angelina Barreto, Zaelynn Zamora, and Alleyna Zamora; three great-grandchildren, Yesly Serna, Gisselle Serna, and Khelani Barreto-Allsopp; five nieces; four nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol, and Pamela. Susan was a cook at Henning’s Root Beer Stand for 17 years. She served in the United States Army from October 25, 1968 – October 22, 1971. She loved watching Lifetime mystery television shows and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Susan always became a mom and grandma to anyone who walked through her door. Cremation rites will be accorded, and a graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday June 17, 2022, at the Danville National Cemetery, 1900 E. Main St. Danville, IL, with Pastor Carlos Sanchez officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Danville American Legion Post #210. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
