Nolan Gonzalez

Nolan “Gonzo” Gonzalez, 52, of Hoopeston, passed away at 4:04 A.M. Sunday January 24, 2016 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis, Ind. He was born March 23, 1963, the son of Noe and Ninfa (Bermea) Gonzalez. He married Ginger Crook on November 15, 2002. She survives in Hoopeston. Nolan is survived by his loving wife, Ginger and two beautiful daughters: Jacy Samet and Emma Gonzalez. He is also survived by his brothers, Norberto (Rosario) Gonzalez, Noe (Angie) Gonzalez and Noel Gonzalez; his sisters, Norma (Ricardo) Alfaro and Noreen (Santos) Gonzalez. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Norman; two brothers-in-law, Adalberto Cantu and Tim Crook and his mother-in-law, Sharon Crook. Nolan always loved to watch sports, especially football, and was a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan from day number one. He had a love of music and treasured the time he spent hanging out and playing guitar with Brian “Bowie” Pierce. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and going to concerts with them. Nolan also had a deep appreciation of old “Godzilla” movies. Above all, Nolan’s favorite pastime was to hang out with his girls, Emma and Jacy. A visitation will be presented from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, January 28 at Anderson Funeral Home, located at 427 E. Main St. in Hoopeston. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29 at the funeral home, with Pastor Brent Zastrow officiating. Burial will follow in the Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Memorial contributions can be made to his daughter Emma’s education fund.
