Louise Carlson Hodge, 95, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 2:12 A.M. Saturday November 26, 2016 at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Living in Hoopeston. She was born February 5, 1921 at the family farm in rural Wellington, IL, the daughter of Julius and Tillie (Johnson) Carlson. She married Ted Hodge on August 11, 1940 in Cissna Park, IL. He preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Dan) Houmes of Hoopeston, IL; two sons, Gary (Donna) Hodge of Wellington, IL and David (Diane) Hodge of Hoopeston, IL; two sisters, Lilian Anderson of Milford, IL and Mary Lou Means of Attica, IN; one brother, John (Kay) Carlson of Milford, IL; 6 grandchildren, Alex, Andrew and Adam Hodge, Dan B. Houmes, Doug Houmes and Georgina Metzler; 5 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Esther Webb and Irene Carlson; one brother, Lloyd Carlson; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Metzler; one step-granddaughter, Chris Cline and two brothers-in-law, John Anderson and Jim Means. Louise was the head cook for Wellington schools. She was a member of the Wellington United Methodist Church in Wellington, IL, where she was active in church activities. She loved quilting, baking and canning fruits and vegetables. Louise especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her family. A visitation will be held 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Saturday December 3, 2016 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will follow the visitation and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Cathy Najmon officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston. Memorials may be made to the Wellington United Methodist Church 410 E. Main St. Wellington, IL 60973.
