Jane Pittman, 97, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 5:08 A.M. Saturday February 7, 2015 at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center in Hoopeston. She was born October 24, 1917 in Hoopeston, IL, the daughter of John William and Ruby (Finch) Decker. She married Robert Dial Pittman on August 15, 1937, in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, Gary Wayne (Narda) Pittman of Colorado Springs, CO and Robert Scott Pittman of Hoopeston, IL; one sister, Marilyn McCoy, one brother John William “Bill” (Carol) Decker of Champaign, IL; two grandchildren, Dana Decker (Jennifer Golightly) Pittman and Gregary Nicholas Pittman; one great grandchild Ailey Pittman and 2 nieces and 4 nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lillian Goldie (Decker) Stewart. Jane was a secretary and did bookkeeping at FMC and Napa Auto Parts in Hoopeston, IL, and later at Edinburg United Methodist Church in Texas. She was a Sigma Beta Phi Sorority member, and volunteered her time at the United Methodist Churches in Edinburg, Texas and Hoopeston, IL. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and yarn crafts. She liked to bake and play bridge. Per her wishes, she will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church 403 E. Main Street, Hoopeston, IL with Pastor Andy Maxwell and Steve Unger officiating. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church 403 East Main Street Hoopeston, IL, 60942.
