Cyndi Rae (Swope) Houston

June 15, 1957 - November 26, 2016

Cyndi Rae (Swope) Houston, 59, of Chenoa, IL, passed away at 1:54 P.M. Saturday November 26, 2016 at the OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac, IL. She was born June 15, 1957 in Danville, IL, the daughter of Richard and Barb Swope and Sylvia and Robert (Wustholz) Matthews. She is survived by two daughters, Markisha (Jason) Wisdom of Hoopeston, IL and Cierra Hanlin of Chenoa, IL; one son, Dakota (Samantha) Hanlin of Hoopeston, IL; one sister, Candance (Greg) Engstrom on San Marcos, TX; grandchildren, Brittany Wisdom (Jake Inman), Jason Jr., Derrik and Keagan Wisdom, Attaleah and Natalie Hanlin, and Skylynn Hanlin, a great-grandchild Ellani “Ellie” Inman; and one special friend, Vickie Houser of Hoopeston, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, childhood best friend and cousin, JoCille Taylor, and two very special friends, Cindy Glenn and James Mayberry; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and amazing friends. Cyndi was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking and gardening, especially caring for her flowers. Her life was her grandchildren. Cremation rites will be accorded and a graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday December 6, 2016 at the Floral Hill Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association 3816 Paysphere Circle Chicago, IL 60674 or to the Autism Association of America 4340 East West HWY Suite 350 Bethesda, MD 20814.
