Connie Sue Rickart, 59, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away at 5:34 P.M. Thursday February 26, 2015 at her sister’s home in Hoopeston, IL, after a courageous battle with breast cancer and later pancreatic cancer. She was born April 11, 1955, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Robert Marshall and Lillie Belle (McBride) Rickart. She is survived by her father, Robert Rickart of Hoopeston, IL, five sisters, Marsha (Lloyd) Blackwell of Byrdstown, TN, Brenda (Raleigh) Marlin of Christiana, TN, Ruth Grether of Riverbank, CA, Bonnie (Steve) Howell of Hoopeston, IL and Betty (Allen) Edwards of Bismarck, IL; one brother, Robert (Dorothy) Rickart Jr. of Hoopeston, IL; 14 nieces and nephews, Lori Montez, Robyn Reagan, Jeremy Furrow, Raleigh Marlin, Ricky Marlin, Angela Colburn, Michelle Mayfield, Shelly Howell, Kelly Barnard, Holly Warner, Steve Howell Jr, Renee Howell, Kyle Edwards and Deana Hurt and 24 great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lora &Edna Rickart and Charles & Josephine McBride; her mother, Lillie Belle Rickart and one niece, Brandi Rickart. Connie worked at Howard Industries in Milford and later worked at ConAgra Foods in Rossville, until their closing. She then began working at the Hoopeston Hospital. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Connie enjoyed sewing, fishing and playing solitaire. She also enjoyed quilting, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. A visitation will be held 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Monday March 2, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday March 3, 2015 at Anderson Funeral Home, with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL.
