Bonnie Pickett

Bonnie Lee Pickett, 61, of Wellington, passed away at 3:46 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at her home. She was born July 26, 1950, in Danville to Forrest "Shorty" Lowe and Agnes (Nunn) Lowe. Bonnie married Danny Phil Pickett on Dec. 9, 1967, at the Church of God in Hoopeston. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Anne Michelle Pickett; three sons, Stanley (Tammy) Pickett, Danny Lee (Linda) Pickett and William (Diane) Pickett; two sisters, Barbara Jean Madison of Albany, Ky., and Nancy (Steve) Rutledge of Cumby, Texas; and two brothers, John (Patti) Lowe of Hoopeston and Tommy Lowe of Cumby, Texas. She also is survived by 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; a daughter, Amy Louise Pickett; a brother, Jackie Lowe; a sister-in-law, Carol Lowe; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Madison. Bonnie enjoyed being a housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Prairie Green Church of Christ. She volunteered in many ways for the Special Olympics. Bonnie enjoyed playing bingo, playing cards, dancing, lottery scratch-off tickets and just being outside. Bonnie will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston, with Rev. Bruce Sterns officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, Hoopeston. Memorials may be directed to the family.
