Billy Joe Hardwick, 55, of Rossville, IL, passed away at 4:41 A.M. Thursday December 4, 2014 at Carle Hoopeston Regional Health Center in Hoopeston, IL. He was born January 27, 1959 in Danville, IL, the son of William and Alice (Houser) Hardwick. He married Sheila Jean Irvin on December 24, 1987. She survives in Rossville, IL. Billy is also survived by: three daughters; Lori Marie (James) Hardwick of Georgetown, IL, Nickiey Jo (Allan) Kochell-Jerome of Wheaton, MO and Ashley Nicole McCormick of Hoopeston, IL; three brothers: James (Lori) Harwick of Georgetown, IL, Patrick (Flossie) Hardwick of Hoopeston, IL and Edward Butch Houser of Hoopeston, IL; one sister: Mary Hardwick Nelk of Hoopeston, IL; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, twenty eight nieces and nephews. He also had a very special niece, Carrie (Nate) McCormick-Konieczki whom he raised along with two special foster sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, one brother: Adam Hardwick, one daughter: Carolyna Nelson, two father-in-laws: Gene Fouse and Robert Irvin; two brother-in-laws: Robert and Milton Irvin, several aunts and uncles, two great nephews, one cousin: Dennis “Red” Mastin and a dear friend: Nick Nelson. Billy worked as a truck driver. He served in the Army National Guard. Billy attended the First Church of God in Hoopeston, IL. He enjoyed working on small engines, doing farm work, working on model cars, ceramics, and doing lawn and garden work. Billy also helped raise multiple children. Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. Monday, December 8, 2014 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Hoopeston with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, IL. with military rites accorded by the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384 and Hoopeston VFW Post #4826.
