Betty Jean Warf

November 2, 1928 - June 14, 2017

Betty Jean Warf, 88, of Danville, IL, passed away at 12:14 P.M. Wednesday June 14, 2017 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center in Danville, IL. She was born November 2, 1928, in Rossville, IL, the daughter of William and Mary (Smith) Huffman. She married Virgil Thomas Warf on June 15, 1946 in Champaign, IL. He preceded her in death. She is survived by five children, Gary (Teri) Warf of Louisville, KY, Janet (Paul) Trosper of Danville, IL, Karen Gossett of Hoopeston, IL, DiAnne (Barry) Griffin of Danville, IL and Steve (Kim) Warf of St. Charles, IL; grandchildren, Tammy (Jon) Roberts, Angie (Rickie) Cade, Jason Warf, Todd (Kristen) Warf, Gregg (Jeanette) Gossett, Katie (Brandon) Moore, Sarah (Saul Mendoza) Gossett, Stevie Warf, Taylor (Jake White) Warf, Raymond (Celia Way) Warf, Wendy Lambert, Kelly Trosper, Randy Trosper, Kim Gossett, Cathy Jo Sroufek, Doug Wallace and Andy Wallace; 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, David Warf; one grandson, Chris Gossett; two sisters, Shirley (Danny) Allison and Lorene Green and one brother, William (Wanda) Huffman. Betty managed the Coachman restaurant in Rossville. She then worked at Howard Industries and later stayed home to help raise her grandchildren. She loved sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and was happy that they won the World Series on her birthday. Betty also enjoyed gardening, reading, drawing, and painting. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and had a big heart for others. Per her wishes, she will be cremated. A visitation will be held 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. Saturday June 17, 2017 at Anderson Funeral Home 427 E. Main St. Hoopeston, IL. A memorial service will follow the visitation and will begin at 6:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, with Gary Warf officiating. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
