Alta Marie "Nana" Goodrum, 83, of Hoopeston, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 12:40 A.M. at the Hoopeston Community Memorial Nursing Home. Alta was born on February 8, 1929 in Prairie Green Township, daughter of William Lewis Page and Myrtle Eva (Mikel) Page. Alta married Harvey Leon Goodrum on August 30, 1947 in Rossville, IL. He preceded her in death. Alta is survived by two daughters: J. Lynn Barker of Hoopeston, IL and Wendy (Steve) Menschel of Hoopeston, IL; one son: Allen (Christie) Goodrum of Hoopeston, IL; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Goodrum of Hoopeston, IL and Donna Lithgow of Hoopeston, IL; one step sister-in-law: Patti Lane of Rockville, IL; and one brother-in-law: Ron Goodrum of Woodville, TX. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters, one son-in-law, three brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law. Alta was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hoopeston First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ. Alta belonged to the Christian Women's Fellowship group. She enjoyed volunteering at the Hoopeston Food Cupboard. Alta's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family and grandchildren.
